Why Did You Get This Kit?  
Getting Started  
This procedure takes approximately one hour  
to complete and requires the following materials  
listed below.  
The original spindles that came with your Model  
G9933 may have been over-hardened during man-  
ufacturing. Where this over-hardening occurred  
there is a danger of the spindle breaking and injur-  
ing the operator or bystander. Although we have  
not been notified that anyone has been injured as  
a result of these spindles, we shipped these supe-  
rior replacement spindles to you at no charge.

Due to the potential safety concerns involved with  
the original spindles, we strongly recommend that  
you STOP USING THIS MACHINE IMMEDIATELY  
and replace the original spindles with these supe-  
rior new spindles.

7. remove the internal retaining ring (shown in  
Figure 6) with retaining-ring pliers.  
11. Place a 22" block of wood under the spindle,  
as shown in Figure 8. Lower the spindle by  
turning the elevation handle until the spindle  
can be removed from the top of the inside  
tube.

8. Open the cabinet door, unlock the belt han-  
dle, and remove the V-belt from the spindle  
pulley (Figure 7).

12. Place two blocks of wood with equal dimen-  
sion against the spindle with one of the bear-  
ings resting on top. Place as many shop rags  
as needed under the spindle to cushion the  
spindle when the bearing is removed. Use a  
dead blow hammer to lightly tap the spindle  
to remove the bearing, as shown in Figure  
9.

9. Using a 5mm hex wrench, remove the cap  
screw and flat washer from the bottom of the  
pulley (Figure 7).  
10. Disengage the spindle lock, and remove the  
spindle pulley and key located at the bottom  
of the spindle (Figure 7).

13. Examine both bearings after they have been  
removed from the old spindle.

—If the bearings are rough or show signs or  
wear, replace them.  
—If the bearings are still in good condition,  
re-install them using the two blocks of  
wood from Step 12 and lightly taping the  
bearings back onto the spindle, as shown  
in Figure 10.

15. re-install the key, spindle pulley, cap screw,  
washer, and V-belt. Check that the belt han-  
dle is secure and that the V-belt is correctly  
tensioned.  
16. re-install the internal retaining ring, making  
sure that it is properly seated in the groove  
(Figure 11).  
17. Thread the cover back on top of the inside  
tube and tighten.  
18. re-install the inner table insert and spindle  
guard.  
19. repeat Steps 1–18 for the two remaining  
spindles.

14. Place the new spindle and bearings into the  
top of the inside tube and lightly tap into place  
using a piece of wood and a dead blow ham-  
mer.  
Be careful not to damage the bearings dur-  
ing spindle installation by using excessive  
force on misaligned bearings. The spin-  
dle should be positioned where the retain-  
ing ring groove is visible, as shown in  
Figure 11.
